چکیده
The increased prevalence of neurodegenerative diseases, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak, necessitates search for natural immune- and cognitive-enhancing agents. 10-Hydroxy-trans-2-decenoic acid (10-H2DA), main fatty royal jelly, has several pharmacological activities. Given fundamental role astrocytes in regulating immune responses central nervous system, we used cortical to examine effect 10-H2DA on expression genes associated with neuroinflammation production neurotrophins, as well cellular resistance H2O2-induced cytotoxicity. Astrocytes, pretreated a range concentrations 24 h, were exposed lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 3 after which proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)) neurotrophic factors (BDNF, GDNF, IGF-1) was evaluated. In absence LPS, had no significant mRNA neurotrophins or except IL-1β, significantly low doses (3 µM). (10 µM) pretreatment LPS-stimulated cells did not inhibit cytokine encoding genes; however, it lowered GDNF tended decrease BDNF IGF-1 compared LPS alone. Additionally, protect against oxidative stress. Our data indicate anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, undergoing inflammation inhibition by neuronal ketogenesis needs investigation.

متن کاملThe functional property of royal jelly 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid as a melanogenesis inhibitor
BACKGROUND It has been reported that royal jelly would reduce melanin synthesis and inhibit the expression of melanogensis related proteins and genes. In this study, we evaluate the anti-melanogenic and depigmenting activity of 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid (10-HDA) from royal jelly of Apis mellifera. METHODS In this study, we assesses the 10-HDA whitening activity in comparison with the changes...
متن کاملDetermination of 10-hydoxy -2-decenoic acid in pure Iranian royal jelly by HPLC method
Royal jelly (RJ) is generally regarded as the major reason of the significant morphological and functional differences between queen and worker bees. The unique and chemically most interesting feature of RJ is its fatty acids. RJ fatty acids are short-chained, 8-10 carbon free acids that are usually either hydroxy fatty acids or dicarboxylic acids. The major fatty acid in RJ is 10-hydroxy-2-dec...
متن کاملAntidepressant-Like Activity of 10-Hydroxy-Trans-2-Decenoic Acid, a Unique Unsaturated Fatty Acid of Royal Jelly, in Stress-Inducible Depression-Like Mouse Model
Symptoms of depression and anxiety appeared in mice after they had been subjected to a combination of forced swimming for 15 min followed by being kept in cages that were sequentially subjected to leaning, drenching, and rotation within 1-2 days for a total of 3 weeks. The animals were then evaluated by the tail-suspension test, elevated plus-maze test, and open-field test at 1 day after the en...
